Why do we run an education course?

There are no detailed reproductive and developmental toxicology training courses for regulatory toxicologists ran in Europe despite this specialist field being a critical area of regulatory toxicology. As the largest society for developmental and reproductive toxicologists in Europe, the European Teratology Society aims to rectify the situation by providing a high quality training course for education purposes.

Our aims and objectives.

High quality teaching on all aspects of reproductive and developmental toxicology for toxicologists working in academia or industry. Specific course topics are: Male and female reproductive physiology; early embryonic development; cellular and molecular processes in early development; cardiovascular development; gastrointestinal development; respiratory development; neurobehavioural development; craniofacial development; fertility testing; developmental toxicity testing; PPND and juvenile toxicity testing; PK/ADME during pregnancy /lactation; risk assessment; endocrine disruption; new approaches and methodologies.

Our courses.

These biennial courses will provide high quality teaching from leading European experts on all aspects of reproductive and developmental toxicology. Although they have previously been delivered by virtual format due to the global pandemic travel restrictions, from 2024 the courses will be ran from a centralised European location to facilitate ease of access, with good transport links and accommodation options. Specific course topics are: Male and female reproductive physiology; early embryonic development; cellular and molecular processes in early development; cardiovascular development; gastrointestinal development; respiratory development; neurobehavioural development; craniofacial development; fertility testing; developmental toxicity testing; PPND and juvenile toxicity testing; PK/ADME during pregnancy /lactation; risk assessment; endocrine disruption; new approaches and methodologies.
